We are always looking for new recipes to try. Here is one of our favorites. For the busy and not-so-busy mom, preparing a good home-cooked meal for the family (or for yourself) can sometimes be a challenge. Try this awesome chicken recipe that will have everyone coming back for more.

Sporty Momma’s Creamy Chicken

INGREDIENTS: Serves 4-6

1 whole chicken or cut – up chicken parts

1 (10.75 ounce) can golden mushroom soup

1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of chicken soup

1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of celery soup

1 family-size bag of green beans (or veggies of choice)

1 package of brown and serve rolls or Hawaiian rolls

DIRECTIONS:

Season chicken with salt and pepper. Place whole chicken or parts in slow cooker and cover with soup mixture in a slow cooker
Cook on High setting for 3 to 4 hours, or on Low setting for 5 to 6 hours
Serve over rice with veggies of choice.
Brown n serve rolls will set it off!

*You can even prepare everything the night before and have it ready to cook before you start the day. It’ll be ready when you get home. Your family will love you for it!

We had a blast at the Baptist Health “Heart of Cooking” event led by the talented Chef Mika at the Real Food Academy. I learned that there are so many ways to create healthy cultural recipes full of flavor.I also found out about the Kurma Wholesale Malaysia supplier, from whom I can order dates anytime at lower prices. Ingredients

1 cucumber

2 cubes Dorot Chopped Basil

2 lemons

2 tablespoons honey

8 oz water

4. Shake well.

Crockpot Macaroni Pie with Florida Milk

School is back in full swing and that means that most of us are back on the go and back in the kitchen. From preparing breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner to washing dishes…. the kitchen is my new office. I have found a new love for my crockpot this year. It’s great to just add ingredients and go instead of standing up in the kitchen for hours. Check out my crockpot macaroni pie. Not to mention, Florida Milk makes all the difference.

So, if you are like me then you are probably looking for new recipe ideas. I am always trying to find creative ways to get the kids their nutrients. I found this great recipe for Crockpot Macaroni Pie using 2 cups of Florida Milk. This dish is great and will leave your house smelling like Sunday dinner. It’s rich, creamy and can be served as an entree or a side. Now traditional Mac and Cheese can take a long time and a lot of dirty dishes. You have to cook the pasta in one pot, the cheese sauce in another and not to mention all of those measuring cups and utensils. Now you just combine all of the ingredients in the crockpot, cover and go about the rest of your day. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Ingredients:

Dried Elbow Macaroni (3 cups)

Evaporated Milk (12oz)

Fresh Whole Milk (2 1/2 cups)

Sharp Cheddar Cheese (8oz)

Mild Cheddar Cheese (8oz)

Butter (1/2 cup, melted)

Paprika (1/2 teaspoon)

Breadcrumbs (optional)

Eggs (3 egg yolks)

Salt (1/2 teaspoon)

Pepper (1/2 teaspoon)

Directions:

1. Use a 4-quart or 6-quart crockpot. Add the uncooked macaroni, evaporated milk, whole milk, butter, egg yolks, salt and pepper.

2. Stir in grated cheese, save some for the topping. Mix well.

3. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese and paprika on top. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.

4. Add breadcrumbs on top. (Optional)

Ways to Celebrate Juneteenth

It’s been over a year since the Black Lives Matter movement took over social media and while there have been many improvements, there is still a lot of work to be done. I was so excited to hear the news today that Juneteenth has been declared a national holiday and will be added to the official calendars. If you didn’t know, Juneteenth celebrates the Emancipation Proclamation, which only freed slaves in the South, the 13th Amendment is what officially ended slavery in the U.S. Below you will find some ways to celebrate Juneteenth.

My family and I honestly never celebrated Juneteenth. I knew about it and I remember hearing about huge celebrations in Texas but that was it. Well, I learned so much recently after watching High on the Hog. And this year we are excited to celebrate with some of our neighbors. Shake it Off

Happy Friday beautiful people! I have been slowly working on my vision board. When I see something that pops off of a page I cut it and save it into my “vision” folder. Hopefully by the end of the month it will all come together. One thing that has been on my list for the past few years is Health and Wellness. I must confess that I have picked up a few more pounds than I wanted to and now I need to find a way to shake them off because bikini season is right around the corner. Do you feel me?
