Superblue Miami

There’s a brilliant new spot in town and it is Super Cool!!! Superblue Miami opened up less than two months ago in Allapattah and it is one cool art museum. Honestly, I have never experienced anything like it. From the time that we arrived at checkin up until we exited the gift shop our mouths were wide open. Yes, that is just how cool it is.

Superblue features several unique exhibits from artists, Es Devlin, teamLab, James Turrell, and a site-specific installation by DRIFT. Featuring more than 30,000 square feet of flexible installation space, Superblue Miami was specifically conceived for the presentation of large-scale works that immerse and engage visitors as part of the art itself.

Every Wall is a Door

The theme is Every Wall is a Door: Every Wall is a Door takes you through immersive light, video, and sound environments. James Turrell manipulates light and vision to investigate the power of perception, Es Devlin stages complex performative spaces that reveal how we relate to the earth, and teamLab grounds us in nature to awaken our sensory response to all living forms. We were literally walking through clouds. This interactive tour is so magical and already have my kids asking when can they go back?

In conclusion, I am super impressed with Superblue Miami. The colors, details, and sensory experience is something that I have never experienced before. It was like we got to escape the daily hustle and bustle and were transported into a magical land of clouds, flowers and trees. My kids and I really enjoyed our tour and the tour guides were great too.

What I’m Loving: July Favorite Things

July is always my favorite month of the year because it is my birth month! And girls let me tell you that this July is a busy one. I celebrated my birthday last week, became the chapter leader of South Florida Mom Bloggers and wrote a few pages in the upcoming Girls Grow together guide that launches this week. Oh and I forgot to mention that I will be a panelist at the upcoming Ft. Lauderdale Fashion brunch in a few days.

It is such a blessing to grow as a momprenuer and be able to share this journey with you all. I have learned so much over the past two years but one of the most important things that I have learned is the power of relationships and showing up. I can’t stress that enough. People remember how you show up and how you treat them. Don’t be afraid to go the extra mile. Here are some of my favorites this month!

Ways to Celebrate Juneteenth

It’s been over a year since the Black Lives Matter movement took over social media and while there have been many improvements, there is still a lot of work to be done. I was so excited to hear the news today that Juneteenth has been declared a national holiday and will be added to the official calendars. If you didn’t know, Juneteenth celebrates the Emancipation Proclamation, which only freed slaves in the South, the 13th Amendment is what officially ended slavery in the U.S. Below you will find some ways to celebrate Juneteenth.

My family and I honestly never celebrated Juneteenth. I knew about it and I remember hearing about huge celebrations in Texas but that was it. Well, I learned so much recently after watching High on the Hog. And this year we are excited to celebrate with some of our neighbors. What I’m Loving: Seasonal Summer Trends

Summer is in full swing and so are all of the seasonal trends! I love this time of the year because school is out, the pool is always warm and my birthday is right around the corner. Yes I LOVE summer. From summer dresses, beverages to my favorite fresh seasonal scents here’s what I am loving this month!

First up is my go to fragrance of 2021. Bacarrat Rouge is light, sweet and sure to turn heads every time that you enter a room.

Every summer I love switching up my hair. Sometimes it’s braids, a new wig or playing with a new color. This month I have done all three. If you are thinking of changing it up this summer try a new wig or haircut with highlights. Since we are finally out of the house, why not have fun getting all dolled up! I love to play around with different wigs. It keeps them guessing. lol

Summer Dresses

If you are looking for great style without breaking the bank, let me tell you that Target has really stepped up their fashion game. The Spring Designer collection was a huge hit and your girl bought 4 dresses. Ok actually I bought five but decided to return one. These dresses were so vibrant and full of color. The best part of all was that they ranged from size XS to 3X! I was super impressed.

5 Ways to calm down in under 10

If you are a mom you have probably experienced a mommy meltdown. You know when you feel like you are about to explode or perhaps just start crying right there on the spot. Trust me, we have all been there. It’s hard to have it all together all of the time. The struggle is real momma. And now that summer break is here we might need these tips even more.

When these emotions start to take over there are several things that can help us to calm down fast. My go to is a quick meditation but the following tips also help me to regroup when I am feeling anxious.

1. Breathe deeply: Most of the time we are not breathing correctly. Taking 5 long deep breaths will help you find your center and bring down your blood pressure.

2. 5 minute meditation: They have so many apps nowadays. The calm app is a miracle worker.

3. Turn on your favorite tunes and sing your heart out.

4. Take a hot shower or bath.

5. Talk it out: Call your go to person and let it all out.

I hope that these suggestions will help you on the days you need it most. Remember that you are not alone momma! Have a relaxing summer!

Mindful Monday: Momprenuer Life

Happy May everyone!!! Since we have a lot of new friends around here, I thought that it would be a great day to re-introduce myself! My name is Sharonda aka Sporty Mommas.
