I must admit I did not watch the SAG awards last night. I was busy flipping channels between the Pro Bowl and the Miss Universe pageant (oh and the Disney channel because my munchkins did not want to go to sleep). Thankfully social media keeps us in the loop with any and everything. So after browsing instagram during commercial breaks here are my top three looks from last night. These ladies nailed it! I could definitely rock the purple gown!
Thank You Dr. King
Today we observe Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. day and I am so grateful. After viewing the movie Selma last Sunday, I realized that we as a nation have come a long way but there is a long way to go. It was a wake up call to action. Sometimes we make excuses and put things on the back burner waiting for the right time. Well there really is no right time. I pray that our country and all races around the world learn to love each other for who we are. We are all human beings. We all need air to breathe, food to nourish our bodies and love. Thank you Dr. King for leading the way.

One of the things that I love doing is interviewing mompreneurs or moms in business. This month, sportymommas.com features a fabulous momma that is doing her thing. Over the past year and a half I have watched her grow and touch many lives. Check out this interview. http://sportymommas.com/january-mom-stacy-boegem/ You can also read the archives of all the featured Sporty Mommas!

Time to Move
Happy New Year! It is taking me a few days to get to the routine again but you gotta do what you gotta do. I am happy to say that I have worked out all three days this week. Tennis on Monday, weight training on Tuesday and Boxing Gym today! Tomorrow is my off day. Is working out on your New Year’s resolution list? What do you do to keep fit? Stay tuned for pics and updates on my “Operation Drop 8”!

Cheers
As I reflect on 2014, I realized that I am not where I want to be but I had a pretty damn good year. I met some people, cut off some people and released some fears. I am learning everyday to enjoy this journey and embrace the bumps along the way. It is all here to make us stronger. I wish you all a Happy New Year. May you continue to shine in 2015!
Ho, Ho, Ho
It has been a little hectic around here since the holiday bazaar and toy drive. I am so happy to share with you all that we had a very successful event. This year we featured 7 mommy owned businesses like AK2 Jewelry, Supervilled Travel, Mary Kay, The Global Team, Kerykay Candle Company, It Works and Dirty Mistress Events. Lots of toys and cash were collected to help put smiles on some faces Christmas morning. I took a trip to Target the next day and purchased an additional $200 worth of gifts. It was great to drop them off at the Children’s Home Society but my heart sank when I heard a baby crying behind the closed doors. There are so many children in need and they did not ask to be born into these situations. This Christmas let’s enjoy every minute with our loved ones and give thanks for all that we have. My friend asked me if I would host the event again in 2015 because I didn’t have as many moms come out as last year. If you know me, you know my response was heck yeah! If we could make a difference in one child’s life that is all that matters. Happy Holidays!!!!

Favorite Things
I love this time of year. I love decorating, visiting friends and family and even shopping. What I can’t stand is the holiday rush and those rude people fighting over parking spaces or knocking you down trying to get that last Frozen doll off the shelf. So this year I am hitting the stores earlier hoping to avoid the madness. Here are a few of my favorite things. Happy shopping!

Memory Lane
I found a pleasant surprise in my inbox last month from Patience Brewster, a designer of Christmas ornaments and gifts. She inspired me to share a favorite holiday photo. I thought about it for a few days and decided to share this one. This picture was taken 4 years ago. Our family of four became 5 and it was one of the most special times of my life. You see my youngest was born with a blood condition and at the time of this photo we did not know if it would cause any problems later on for her. I am blessed to share with you all that she just celebrated her 4th birthday and she is doing great. She is smart, sassy and strong oh and I forgot very athletic. I am so very thankful for my beautiful family and every moment that we have together. Happy Holidays!
Gift Ideas
I know that you are getting ready for the holidays. The stores are all decked out and the lights are shining bright. If you are in denial like me, it is time to get on the train. Time is truly flying by and well like it or not, we need to be prepared. As you are buying teacher gifts or gifts for friends and family, please keep Sporty Mommas in mind. I guarantee they will love a bling tee or cap. Here are a few of my must have holiday items. Happy Shopping! Take $5 off your purchase using coupon code HOLIDAY!
