The Secret is Out: Black Friday Sales are here
Yesterday I drove up to Sawgrass Mills to hang out with my fellow FemCity sister and personal stylist Dionne Dean! I have been a fan of Dionne for a while now. I love her style and her willingness to share all of her fashion expertise. This momma is a beast at thrifting and finding amazing deals. We have been planning on meeting up for a mini mastermind session for a few months now, so what does a Sporty Momma and a stylist do? SHOP!!!!
If you haven’t noticed by now almost every department store has already started their Black Friday sales! What does this mean? It means go get those deals while they are hot! Don’t wait until next Friday and all of the goodies are sold out. Grab your shopping buddies and get your shop on early! Trust me you won’t be disappointed and if the deals get better, most stores will price match.
Designer originals are my favorite but I hate paying full price so the shops at the Colonnade was our first stop. Coach had some amazing bags and accessories at 70 % off. Valentino did not disappoint but honestly was still way out of my price range. Let me tell you where my heart sank…. the Gucci store. Yes, Gucci! I got this amazing chic bag and a wallet for half off. The hubby said Merry Christmas to you , lol! After bumping into another Pinecrest mom all the way at Sawgrass Mills, I knew it was totally worth the 40 minute drive.
After a quick lunch at Grand Luxe Cafe I hopped back on I-75 and rushed to pick up the kiddos. Even though I am not a thrifter, I am excited to hit the stores with Dionne and see what goodies we find. Stay tuned…..

Sleep Better with Casper
So about two years ago I attended Blogher in Orlando. It was my first blogger conference and I was in over my head. There were thousands of bloggers from all over the U.S. trying to get whatever information and sponsorship connections they could get in 48 hours. Everyone wants the keys to success in this over saturated blogger world.
I left the conference with two life changing takeaways. First, I learned that there is enough room in any field for everyone because we all are unique and have something different to offer. Secondly, I received a coupon for a complimentary pillow from a new and upcoming brand named Casper. I went online and ordered one as soon as I got home.
If you have never heard of Casper here is the scoop. Casper is a company that is well known for their eco-friendly mattresses, like sertapedic. You may have seen them around Target. Well they just opened a brick and mortar store in Dadeland Mall. They have pillows, sheets, night lights, mattresses, dog beds. Casper also has a 100 night, risk free trial most of the products. Best of all all of their products are free from harmful chemicals.
Once my new pillow arrived I noticed that I started sleeping so much better. My hubby and I were fighting over who got to use the pillow. I made him go buy his own lol. He loved the pillow so much that he told me to buy one for each of the kiddos. It is amazing what a good pillow can do for you.
So the next time that you are in the mall or Target check out the Casper pillows. Since we just got a new mattress last year I have to wait a little for a mattress but it is on my wishlist. Trust me it is worth very penny.

Burr’s Berry Fall Festival
Even though we are still seeing summer temps, it is still Fall in Miami and that means lots of fall festivals. There are great family friendly events happening all over the city. Last Sunday I packed up the kids and headed down to Burr’s Berry Farm for an afternoon of fun! If you have never heard of Burr’s Berry Farm they are very well known in South Florida for their strawberry milkshakes. Now I have been driving by this farm for years because my godmother lives right across the street but I never knew that they put on a Fall Festival quite like this.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the long lines of people waiting to get inside the farm. I had no idea that this many people would be there. The famous milkshake line was twice as long. After finding parking and waiting in line for about 20 minutes we headed inside for some fall fun.
The Stew Crew was just as surprised as me. There were rows and rows of beautiful orange pumpkins with plenty of great photo opportunities. The play area, face painting booth, corn maze, and hay rides definitely kept my kiddos entertained. We even explored the most beautiful field of sunflowers that I have ever seen in person. (Like the ones in the movies) After making an attempt to walk through the corn maze a few feet, we got a little spooked out and turned around lol.
The Burr’s Berry Fall festival is happening now until October 31st. If you can’t make it to Burrs Berry Farm, there are other great fall events going on all over Miami. One of my traditional Fall favorites is the Coconut Grove Pumpkin Patch Festival taking place October 26-27.
Happy Fall Ya’ll!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Early Detection
Breast cancer affects almost every family nowadays. According to breastcancer.org, 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer. Besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. Symptoms of breast cancer include a lump in the breast, bloody discharge from the nipple, and changes in the shape or texture of the nipple or breast.
In women under 45, breast cancer is more common in African-American women than White women. Overall, African-American women are more likely to die of breast cancer. Read More
Fall Favorites
It’s not quite officially Fall according to the calendar but if you look around all of your favorite stores have updated their inventory. The smell of pumpkin lattes are definitely in the air. Halloween Horror Nights has already started in Orlando! However, it is so hot in Miami right now that I am literally praying for cooler temperatures. Every time I step outside it feels like I just spent 10 minutes in the sauna. Do you feel me?
I love September because we are finally settled back into a routine and it means that the holidays are right around the corner. Every Fall I make a wish list of must have items. From books to read, clothing… to new lipstick and nail colors. It’s a great time to switch things up. Here are some of my 2019 Fall Favorites. I would love to hear some of yours. Please share in the comments below!

Self-Care Awareness Month
Did you know that September is Self-Care Awareness Month? I had no idea that there was actually a month dedicated to reminding us to take care of ourselves. It is crazy that we even have to remind ourselves to take care of our bodies but in today’s world, we have to do just that. Everything and everyone is moving at one hundred miles per hour and honestly, I find it hard to keep up.
As moms, we often put everyone’s needs before our own. We have to manage the kids, the house, the jobs, the pets and everything else in between.

Mommy Survival Kit
It’s here, the season that most of us had been patiently waiting for all month long… it’s back-to-school time! Some of us were eager to get back on a regular routine and take solo trips to Target. For others, we’re missing sleeping in and not having to do homework. Some of you begged for one more week of summer. Some moms were counting down the minutes until the school bus pulled up. Read More
