After a weekend full of soccer, football, and the sniffles, I am back on the grind. Unfortunately, I didn’t make the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure due to this head cold that wants to hang around. I did watch a little of it on T.V. while I was in bed. It was great to see all of the participants and listen to their stories. My aunt Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer at 32. After a 7 year battle, she passed away at 39. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She adored her husband and two young sons. She kept her struggle a secret and I never quite understood why. I guess she didn’t want us to worry. I always admired her strength and determination to be a great mom.

Things may not be where you want them to be, but be thankful for another day to get it right. If there is something that you want to do, just step out and do it. All we have is today!!!!!!

This week flew by! I was so busy I woke up and couldn’t believe it was really Friday. Unfortunately I am under the weather. I could blame it on the lack of rest this week, but it’s kinda hard to not catch a cold when your 2 year old is wiping snot on you. I know, I know TMI. If you are a mom you can relate.

As I was walking around Target (the second day in a row), I could not help but notice all of the Halloween candy. It got me to thinking about back in the day. I remember we could not wait to go Trick or Treating. The costumes were important but it was counting all of the candy at the end of the night that made it fun. I would never eat all of the candy that I collected but boy did I have fun looking at it. Here are a few oldies but goodies. What are some of your favorite candies from your childhood?

I hope you all had a fabulous week. This week flew by so fast I can’t believe it’s the weekend. The weather is gorgeous and I am looking forward to a great workshop this morning with the lovely ladies of Femfessionals. Last night I met up with a few girlfriends at Town for a much needed “Mommy Break”. I ordered a “Pink Elephant” and it was sweet and sassy. Here is one of many recipes for the Pink Elephant. Ingredients:
1 part white cranberry juice
1 part berry vodka
1/2 part raspberry liqueur (recommended: Chambord)
1/2 part Limoncello

Directions:
To a shaker full of ice, add all ingredients. Shake well and pour into chilled martini glasses.

It is a beautiful day in the MIA! Fall is definitely in the air and before you know it the holidays will have come and gone. With our busy hectic schedules as mommas, it is easy to forget to stop and smell the roses. Take a few moments to pause and take it all in. It is T-Shirt Tuesday!!!! My question is what do you prefer as a busy mom, style vs. comfort? I try to add pieces to my wardrobe that offers both. If I have a busy day planned with the kids, I am not going to wear clothes that get in the way of having fun. You ladies know what I mean.
