Summer, Summer, Summertime!

Well ladies, May is here and unless you have been stuck up north in the cold weather and haven’t really been out, you have probably already seen the beach towels, bikinis and the body lava at Sephora restocked and ready for summer. Summer is a time to unwind and enjoy the family, sun and my favorite the cute summer outfits. I have two really fun events that I am attending this week so I have been out window shopping trying to figure out what I am going to wear. There are some exciting trends going on right now and I am loving all of the oldies that are making a comeback like barrettes, mini skirts and straw bags but also enjoying some of the new trends. Here are the top 10 trends that I see in 2019.

1. Animal Prints
2. Minis

3. The Non-Traditional White Blouse

4. The Straw Handbag

5. The Strappy Sandal

6. Pretty Hair Bows

7. Bright Bold Colors

8. Matching Sets

9. Chunky Sneakers

10. The Cat Eye

Happy Shopping,

With a Cherry on Top!

Confessions of a shopaholic: I walked by this shirt several times before purchasing it. I kept asking myself, am I really going to wear this? Do you ever do that? However, this top was on sale. It was about 60% off the ticket price and I couldn’t just leave it there, right? Believe it or not it hung in my closet for 2 months before I actually wore it. I guess I was waiting for the right time. Besides, it has bright red satin cherries all over it. Where am I going to wear it?

When shopping the clearance section, it’s great to find items that can be dressed up or dressed down.  This blouse is fun, lightweight and you can roll the sleeves up if it is warm or let them out if its cooler. You can pair it with leggings, jeans, slacks or even a cute pencil skirt. I decided to go with my favorite la’gence jeggings and black slip on espadrilles. I had planned on getting my hair done and meeting a friend for lunch but #momlife and a home installation kept me at home most of the day.

So my style tip this week is don’t be afraid to wear cherries or bright colors or prints that you might not usually wear. Sometimes stepping out of the box leads to great things. Not just in fashion by the way. I have to tell you that I got a bunch of compliments when I finally wore it.  I actually can’t wait to wear it again. How would you rock the cherry top?

Valentines Gift Guide

Filed under: Mom Life · February 5, 2019

Hey Sporty Mommas!!! Are you looking for the perfect Valentines gift for your significant other? I know shopping for Valentines Day may not be that fun and it is just one more thing to add to our long to do lists. In my case I always struggle with finding a cool gift because Christmas, our Anniversary, Valentines Day and his birthday are right after each other. Most of the time I am like… hey Valentines Day is supposed to be for the ladies anyways right, lol! But I know that guys like to be acknowledged and spoiled too.  I recently read an article where relationship experts say that couples who take time off to appreciate and celebrate each other, stay together. If you don’t have a Valentine date yet, I suggest you read this reddit sexting info. So I guess we better get to shopping. The fun thing about this gift guide is that I found things that both of you can enjoy. Happy Shopping!!!!

Did you know that Tom Ford Black Orchid is unisex?

Concert or sports tickets!

Andrea Bocelli is actually in town on Valentines Day

A couples Spa Day is a win win for both. I love the Mandarin Oriental!!!

Don’t want to splurge, try a couples massage instead.

Dinner for two at Fiola Miami

The hottest spot in D.C. just opened in Miami a few moths ago.

A boudoir photo shoot. Pics for him and for you!!! Check out Serendipity.

Holiday Fashion on a Budget

The holidays are here and I am here for it. I love to see all of the decorations and lights all around Miami. I am sure most of you do too that’s why the malls are already so crowded. LOL! What’s not to love about Christmas in Miami? Okay it will be a lot warmer than everywhere else but hey we can wear sandals and strapless dresses all year round.

With the holiday hustle comes all of the parties, fundraisers and dinners out with friends. How many holiday parties do you have lined up? If you are looking for something to wear and tired of over spending, Rent the Runway might be the best kept secret for fashionistas. A few years ago a friend told me about RTR and I was like hmmm I don’t want to share clothes with anyone. I like to shop and look at it hanging up in my closet. But last month when I realized that I had 3 events back to back and nothing to wear, I thought that I would give it a try.

It was super easy to sign up. They have a few different rental options too. You can do a one time rental. This is perfect for weddings or formal affairs that you don’t want to buy a dress for. RTR update is when you just want a few pieces to play around with during the month. My favorite,  RTR unlimited is a revolving closet that you can swap out as much as you want through out the month. Your first month is only $99.  What isn’t so easy is picking out only four items with so much inventory to choose from. I must share that in my first order I got my sizes all wrong so I highly recommend that you read the comments about sizing options.

So if you are looking for a holiday wardrobe and don’t want to break the bank, give Rent the Runway a try. Not only do they have designer apparel, they also have nice handbags, accessories and outerwear. I am at the end of my first month and let me tell you it is addictive! I already wanted to buy all 4 pieces but I promised to be strong as I ran back to the UPS store to ship off my order! Happy Shopping or should I say renting! Click here for a special discount!

Freshly Picked

Filed under: Mom Life · July 24, 2018

I absolutely love flowers. You probably know this by now if you are following me on Instagram. When I was a kid I use to pick the little yellow weeds from the yard and make tiny arrangements. I had no idea that they were weeds lol! I love the colors and how they can uplift the spirit as soon as you look at them. I use to spend a lot of money buying flowers to decorate our home until I started going to Trader Joe’s. I found out that I can get the same dozen roses that I normally got at Whole Foods for half the price. Yep! I’m excited to place the roses in my new blue and white ceramic vase. So if you love fresh flowers and want to save some cash or buy more flowers for less I highly recommend Trader Joe’s floral department. What’s your favorite flower?

Summer Fun at Dolphin Mall

Filed under: Mom Life · July 2, 2018

Happy July!!!!! Summer is officially in full swing and if your kids are going stir crazy in the house like mine, you should consider heading to Dolphin Mall.  Dolphin Mall is Miami’s largest indoor outlet center featuring over 240 stores and theme entertainment. Dolphin Mall is celebrating summer with tons of great promotions and activities for kids. The Stew Crew was super excited when I told them that we were heading to the Dolphin Mall Mommy Blogger event. This event gave us a preview of all of the amazing things that Dolphin Mall has to offer.

Our first stop was Dave and Busters! This summer they are open early at 10 a.m. This was their absolute favorite part of the day. What kid doesn’t love to play video games, like 벳위즈, all day?

There is an exciting new Jurassic Park 3D ride that came out just in time for the movie release. They also added new basketball games similar to those on Ladbrokes Near Me, food items and more ways to win those prizes!!!! We played skee ball, table hockey, Mario Brothers, and shot lots of hoops. On Wednesdays, Dave and Busters will offer half price games all day long. Sounds like the perfect place for a play date, right?

Next we had about an hour to shop. I really wanted to go to IKEA but everyone knows that you need more than an hour at IKEA.  We strolled through the mall and almost every store had some kind of huge sale going on. It was a shopaholics dream come true. Some of my favorite stores there are True Religion, Neiman Marcus and the Saks outlets. It is not easy shopping with 3 kids so I just window shopped that day. We grabbed a little snack from Starbucks and headed to Cinebistro.

Have you ever been to Cinebistro? It is where dinner and a movie really mean just that. They have an amazing menu full of gourmet dishes and delicious desserts. You can get your traditional movie snacks like candy, popcorn and nachos but you can also have fettuccini Alfredo, cheesecake  and a martini. The comfy plush seats and extra room made my kids feel right at home. We enjoyed watching the Incredibles 2 with all of the other families. Cinebistro is kid friendly until 6 p.m.

The next time we go back I promised to take them to Bowlero. On Mondays they have $14.19 unlimited bowling and shoe rental. Bowlero is really cool too because they have laser tag. Cobb theaters will offer free admission to kids every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. so you definitely should check that out. The Stew Crew had a blast and can’t wait till we plan our next Dolphin Mall outing. For more information you can visit www.shopdolphinmall.com!!!

Fabulous Fashion on a Budget!

Filed under: Fashion, Mom Life · April 12, 2018

Happy Friday Sporty Mommas! Earlier this week I got tons of compliments on this two piece set that I wore to a luncheon. Guess what?  An outfit under $100 can still be a huge hit! I bet you would have never thought that it was $50 because I paired it with my Tory Burch sandals and a Gucci bag. I have learned over the past few years that high-low fashion is here to stay. Most celebrities mix and match all of the time. Just look at Instagram and see Beyonce in Top Shop or Cardi B in Fashion Nova! I haven’t worn a coordinated set in years but this color was screaming my name as I walked by the rack. The best thing is it doesn’t need to be ironed!!!!! So here are the details on my look. And by now if you know me, you know I got it from my favorite store Zara! Happy Shopping!!!!

Why you should splurge on a great pair of leggings!

Filed under: Fashion, Fit Moms · April 3, 2018

For years I had serious issues paying over $100 for a pair of leggings. I mean hey I am a mom of three kids that always seem to need new clothes, shoes, fees for sports activities and the thought of splurging on a pair of Lululemon leggings for myself was absurd. I found myself often browsing the racks of Marshalls and TJ Maxx and sometimes Macy’s looking for a pair that weren’t see through or unsupportive. I always ended up buying a few pair at a time because they were typically $29.99 or $49.99 and that seemed like a deal. But what I didn’t pay attention to was the fabric, lack of support and how I was always buying new ones because they didn’t last long. Don’t get me wrong those stores have amazing deals and I love a great deal but I needed gym leggings with a little more compression and support for this aging body. #almost40

Carbon38

One day a friend of mine told me that Lululemon was having a sale. I didn’t even know that they had sales because I never walked into one of the stores. So, I eagerly took my first trip to Lululemon at Merrick Park. As I touched and observed all of the different styles and colors, I still felt this guilt like I really should not be spending this kind of money on workout clothes. But…they were on sale so I tried on a few pair. I could not believe what I was missing all of these years. I loved the compression and the fit. It was like an instant booty lift. When I walked my thighs didn’t jiggle. OMG! I was in heaven. I will never forget that I purchased my first pair of black Lululemon leggings with a gift card from my brother. (I know crazy right I still wouldn’t spend my own money) but after wearing them a few times I told myself that I deserved to splurge every now and then. And you do too!

Lululemon

So here are a few tips to save on designer leggings. First, always check the outlet stores. They might be out of season but they still look great. Almost every department store now has an active wear section. I was amazed to see a whole section in Neiman Marcus dedicated to just active wear. If you’re looking for cutting-edge fashion women’s activewear, it’s worth exploring specialty stores and online boutiques that offer unique styles. These places often carry the latest trends and high-performance fabrics designed to keep you looking stylish while working out.

Second, search online sites like RueLaLa for special sales. You can also use those Macy’s coupons for an extra 20% off on brands like Nike and Adidas in store. The brands that I currently love are Alo Yoga, Nike, Lululemon and just ordered my first pair from Carbon38. Third, just do it!!! Your body will thank you for it. If you are like me and feel guilty for buying high end workout clothes, don’t be. Just look at it this way when you look good, you feel good and everyone knows that you feel REALLY good wearing a new outfit to the gym. #killinit

Fashionista Friday: Red Hot

Filed under: Fashion, Fit Moms · November 10, 2017

This is my favorite time of the year.  The weather is slowly changing. I repeat slowly changing. The time change sucks but after a few days you get use to it. Starbucks rolls out their holiday menu and Santa’s Enchanted Forest reopens so you know Christmas is almost here. My calendar does get a little hectic these last two months of the year.  Between the kid’s sports activities, school functions and play dates, don’t forget the play dates, some days are definitely longer than others. Then there’s all of the fun holiday parties, fundraisers, and networking events. Yes, it can get a little cray cray but I love it. And yes, I get overwhelmed sometimes but I have learned that if it is not aligned with my soul to just say no.

When all of the invitations start coming in, the first question that usually pops up is what am I going to wear? I usually head to Zara. They never disappoint. Sometimes the lines can be super long but I have learned that if you go before the lunch rush, it’s not that bad. I also have noticed that the prices seem to be going up. It still isn’t as bad as some stores but be prepared. Most of the time I am in a hurry so I just buy a few different outfits and pray that at least one of them works out. (They always work out #shopaholic)

On Thursday, FemCity Miami celebrated the launch of the Fall Collective Edition at Kendra Scott in Brickell City Centre. I was feeling very festive and bold so I bought a bright red dress. Everyone loved my dress so I thought that I would share the details.  You won’t believe that it was under $30. So, if you are looking for a cute affordable outfit for an upcoming event check I highly recommend Zara! Happy Shopping!

Filed under: Mom Life · June 19, 2017

Last week the Stew Crew and I loaded up the truck and headed up to Dolphin Mall for a day of fun. We were super excited to see all of the new stores and restaurants that opened since our last visit. And yes we needed to get our last minute Father’s Day gifts for the Sporty Dads in our lives. Our first stop was breakfast at Cabo Flats. Cabo Flats is a cool Mexican restaurant that is known for their Salsa Nights. Yes, you can go learn how to Salsa at Dolphin Mall.

IMG_5182

After breakfast we had a few hours to shop. The kids got to pick a few stores to go in. Momma got her shop on too. We were quick enough to grab a few gifts and a little something for ourselves. Game Stop, Neiman Marcus, GAP, Foot Locker and Victoria’s Secret were a must.

IMG_5187

Next, we met the other Mommy bloggers and their kiddos at Cool de Sac! All of the kids had a blast. It was a great time to wine down and enjoy a little lunch while the kids got to play. Cool de Sac is a great spot for busy moms to connect, watch the kids play and enjoy healthier meal options. Oh and they have WINE!!!! They have a toddler area, mini playground with cool thermoplastic playground markings and computer game station for those video game junkies. The Stew Crew had so much fun that they did not want to leave.

IMG_5190

But the fun didn’t stop there. Next up was bowling at Bowlero which also offers laser tag. We chose to bowl and the competition was fierce with those bumpers y’all! After an early lead I ended up coming in third place. It was fun though and the kids can’t wait to go back.

IMG_5188

So if you are looking to do some really cool stuff with the kiddos this summer, head on over to Dolphin Mall. There’s definitely something for everyone and you can stay cool and dry in this crazy Miami weather.  We ate, shopped and played til we dropped. #naptime

The summer is officially over for the Stew Crew! And it was a busy one. The younger two spent the last week at a school camp in Georgia and had a blast. The oldest and I spent way too much money getting the dorm room together. But the bonding was immeasurable! We ended our adventure with attending The Weeknd concert last night and I must say that it was priceless to see their faces!

For those of you with young children, trust me when I say that time flies. There will be good days and bad days but you will never get this time back!!! Enjoy the ride!!!!
