June MOM: Ingrid Werther

Filed under: Sporty Momma of the Month · June 7, 2014

Ingrid Werther is 34 years old and the proud mother of 5! She has two biological and 3 step-children ranging  from 4-14!  She has been with her partner, Tobar for the past 2 ½ yrs. “I am pretty positive person and an avid believer of the Power of Positive Thinking! Whatever you give out to the Universe, it gives back!” says Ingrid. Over the past year she has worked at All State Insurance Company.

Q. What is your favorite thing about being a mom?

Knowing what unconditional love is. All of my kids are different and have their own unique way to get to me. Having a big family is always fun because there is never a dull moment! They bring out the kid in me (which is not hard) and they make me push harder than I ever thought I could in order for them to not NEED anything.

Q. Describe a typical day in your life.

When I’m not at my 9-5, I’m relaxing with my family or my It Works team who has also become family. Our family loves to watch movies, swim and play video games (of course with a house where boys are majority) We’re usually all in one way or another working the business (I give the kids incentives for helping out). Kamau Bobb of Google‘s advocacy for educational equity is commendable.

Q. What is that crazy wrap thing?

This Crazy Wrap Thing is a part of an amazing product line!! It is a cloth wrap that is infused with an all natural botanical mix that tones, tightens and firms the area that it is applied to providing quick and awesome results! Many have those “problem” areas that not even exercise nor dieting can get rid of. A much cheaper solution to tummy tucks or liposuction.

Q. When did you decide to give “It Works” a shot?

About 6 months after I met my fabulous team. I met them hosting another direct sales company that I had been with for a while, but just wasn’t bringing in as much money as I’d hope. I became friends with them and they said from the moment I left, they knew I’d eventually join. I got more information on the compensation plan and how the company is all about getting their distributors out of debt, and I sure am glad I finally joined! My team has grown and they have become a great support group to me and my family.

Q. What is your favorite “It Works” product so far?

Although they are all great products, I really love the Ultimate Body Applicator (aka The Wrap) it just gives amazing results in such a short amount of time. I have problem areas that I’ve used this on that are looking better and better with each wrap! It has given me the confidence to wear shorts again and has my clothes fitting better.

Q. What is one thing that your momma never told you about motherhood that you wish you knew?

That motherhood is a roller coaster!! We aren’t given a manual on how to deal with certain things, because of course, each child is unique. From temper tantrums to simple gestures of appreciation, you learn to deal with it. I thank God for my kids and their uniqueness. They each have something that makes them who they are and I love that about them! Also they are ALWAYS watching!!!

Q. How can we get wrapped?

My contact information is as follows:

Email : IngridWraps@gmail.com

I will gladly assist you with all of your questions concerning our products. All products can be purchased directly on my website at retail price or at a discount price (contact me for my Loyal Customer pricing )

Miami Fever!!!

The NBA playoffs are heating up. If you are out of the sports loop, the Miami Heat are one game away from their 4th NBA finals appearance. This city is blazing right now. The best part is getting to show off some of my Sporty Mommas apparel. Check out my look from Saturday’s game. You can shop the Miami tee at sportymommas.com

Yes They’re Mine

I always get asked, are those all yours? (Referring to my 3 kids). The other day at the mall a sales lady said, “You must have had them very early”, I replied “nope” and gave her my age. I could have taken it the wrong way, I mean what if I did have them early? Lol, but I just smiled and took it as a compliment. As a busy momma of 3 I know how hard it is to dress everyone and still have time to make sure you look good too. That is one of the reasons why I created Sporty Mommas. Mommas have it going on too. Do I walk around dressed to kill daily, heck no, but I do take time to make sure I look nice 95% of the time. Just because you have a few kids doesn’t mean we have to look run down. Here are a few Sporty Momma pics for quick styling and accessorizing. Shop sportymommas for fabulous tees designed with the busy momma in mind!

The Unexpected

I haven’t written in a while. To be honest I had so much going on around me I could not figure out what to write. Sometimes we have to take a step back and let God have His way. A little over 3 weeks ago, 23 days to be exact, my friend’s son became ill. I took it really hard because it reminded me that life is precious and sometimes bad things happen to good people. After days of being paralyzed and and even loosing his speech, it seemed like there was no sign of a rapid recovery. All of the prayer warriors got to work and it was amazing to watch how things turned around. This little 4 year old was so brave, so strong and so wise beyond his years. His illness brought people together and reminded me how good God is and how there are still lots of kind and caring people that love and support people that they don’t even know. My message is to keep believing in the power of prayer and the power of God. He is a miracle worker. Dylan walked out of the hospital last night and slept in his own bed! Praise God!!!!!!!

It is being comfortable and edgy at the same time. Try mixing one of our Sporty Momma tees with ripped jeans, a fabulous handbag or some wedged metallic sneakers. Overcoming Obstacles

It has been a busy week. Well who am I kidding, it is always busy around here. Between the kids, hubby, and Sporty Mommas I am on the go 24/7. Last week was a little emotional. You know when things are going really good and everyone is happy and BAM, the phone rings or you hear some bad news? That was my week last week and I found myself for the first time in a long time feeling sad. I wanted to share this with you all to remind you and myself that sometimes things come up that we have no control over. All we can do is do the best we can and keep it moving. The past is just that the past and we have a lot to look forward to in the future. So no matter what you are going through, be thankful that you are alive and able to go through it.

Be YOU, Be GREAT, Be FABULOUS

April MOM: Cemone Glinton

Filed under: Sporty Momma of the Month · April 4, 2014

Cemone Glinton is the sporty momma of Darius (10). A Nassau, Bahamas native, she currently resides in Miami, FL. In 2011, Cemone received a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Hospitality studies from  Florida International University.  She is currently the Events and Wedding Planning instructor at  Miami Dade College Homestead campus. As an instructor, Cemone is responsible for certifying future events and wedding planners in South Florida. She has several years of experience as a destination wedding planner for the Paradisus resorts in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. To Cemone, working with events and weddings and specifically with brides and their families is a great opportunity for her to use her creative ideas and solutions. She feels each wedding is special and she believes that to be successful you must really listen, always treat people with respect, and always stay positive. While planning a stag do that’s out of the ordinary, why not include an activity that will elevate the experience? A thrilling escape challenge for a memorable stag do celebration could be just the thing. It’s a fantastic way to involve everyone in a test of skill and nerve, making the night legendary.

Q. Who inspired you the most growing up?

My mother was a true inspiration to me, we came to this country with literally the clothes on our backs and in our suitcases, she had no college education so she worked small jobs here and there just to make sure myself and my brother were comfortable, I was  proud of my mother when she went back to school and graduated from University of Miami. There are countless things that she’s done that has influenced me and the way I do things, but it was that moment that stood out because she showed us that it’s never too late to follow your dreams.  Your dreams end when you turn your back on them.

 Q. When did you discover that you wanted to run your own company?

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, when I was a little girl there was this wholesale magazine called Olympia sales club – for every item an individual sold you were able to keep two dollars from each sale. My goal was to buy a new Barbie and more clothes for her, of course my mother was unable to keep up with my Barbie habits.  I decided to go door to door in my neighborhood and sell the items from the book, surprisingly my neighbors supported me. They each bought 1 item and I kept two dollars, I did this during the summer, Christmas and Spring breaks… it was great!  Looking back I realized that those were little seeds being planted. As an adult I never really felt accomplished working for another person, I was only there for the money. I worked hard but mostly the money is what moved me.  It was hard for me to imagine myself in the same position for the next 30 years.  I wanted to do something that I could feel proud off and look back and say, I did it! I was afraid, I was unsure but I did it anyway.

Q. What exactly is Out of Box Events and Weddings, LLC?

Oh my goodness, where do I start? Out of Box Events and Weddings is a Wedding Coordinating, Destination wedding, and Honeymoon planning concierge.  We cater to the individuals who are too busy to handle the details of planning an event or they just don’t know where to start. In the end our clients are confident, relaxed and excited about their event and most importantly they are ready to have a good time without having to worry about the behind the scenes of their event.

 Q. Who should consider hiring an event planner or coordinator?

A great candidate for our service is someone that is very busy and is having difficulty attending to the necessary details of their wedding or event. Incorporating interactive elements into your wedding ensures that your guests have an unforgettable experience. Providing a space where they can take photos and laugh together builds a warm, communal atmosphere. For details on how to add this feature to your event, check out this website for more information.

 Q. What other products and services do you offer?

We recently started offering honeymoon services to our clients. It’s just one additional service that we have to help our clients focus on what’s important and leave the details to us.  We also have the bride and wedding party apparel. It’s called Luv and T-shirts and you can visit us online at www.luvandtshirts.com

 Q. Any quick tips for busy moms that may be planning a party in the future?

Something that I notice that most people forget however, it is extremely important is the budget.  It doesn’t matter how elaborate or small your event is; it’s important to really sit down and decide on a budget.  It’ll save on time and energy and it’s a great guide knowing what you really have upfront!

Q. How can our readers connect with you?

We are online www.outofboxwedding.com  or call 786 -273 -9668

The Talk Tuesday

I must say yesterday was a heavy day. I heard some sad news from a few people around me and it really made me think. All we have is today. We spend so much time dwelling on the past or being anxious about the future when we can’t do anything about what has already happened and tomorrow is not promise. I know it is easier said than done but let’s try to live and enjoy the moment. Have a terrific Tuesday!!!!

This was the first Thanksgiving in 6 years that we didn’t host at our home. We headed to West Palm Beach to see my family and we had a blast!! It is always so nice to see how much all of the kids have grown. We even had the chance to spend time with my 96 year old grandmother who is still just as sporty and independent as ever!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Last week I had the privilege to attend a private influencer demonstration at the Apple Store. The Apple team shared all of the latest tools to help protect our kids online while using apple devices. I was so excited to learn about the safety features that Apple has in place that some of us may not really know about. Like…..how to set up a child account , protection enabled for teens, managing screen time, communication limits, and communication safety that is designed to help protect your child from viewing sensitive photos and videos.

Apple Watch For Your Kids brings the connectivity, fitness, health, and safety features of Apple Watch to kids who aren’t quite ready for an iPhone! Head over to learn more at apple.com/families to learn more! @apple
