It was about 6:35 a.m. and I heard this whining coming from downstairs. I thought I was dreaming. I laid there listening a few minutes longer and realized who it was. Charlie (9 month old golden retriever) was whimpering and whining and scratching the crate begging to get out. I rushed to turn the alarm off and hit the garage openers to open the door, and he sprinted out of the door. He was beyond sick. Now it is one thing for the kids to get sick, but when the dog gets sick and you have no idea why…that is a headache. Apparently he ate something in the yard yesterday and it messed him up. He is at the vet today getting a check up and his bi-weekly grooming session. I am praying the bill isn’t to expensive.
Once Charlie is back home, I plan to do a thorough inspection of the yard to remove anything that could be dangerous to him. I’ll also make a mental note to keep a closer eye on him during outdoor playtime. It’s moments like these that make me appreciate his health and energy even more, but I also realize how much work goes into ensuring he stays that way. For now, I’m anxiously waiting for an update from the vet and hoping it’s nothing serious. I could definitely use that nap once everything is sorted.#Ineedanap
