So now that everyone is back to school it means back to business. Everyone that has a business or has had one knows that things never really go as planned. But, that is life we take lemons and make lemonade.
The Countdown
Wow in just a few weeks I will be having my third baby shower! It is still unbelievable. Well each day it becomes more and more a reality with every twitch, hiccup and kick. This little girl is strong and active just like her sister. Although I am in for a ride, I know it was part of God’s plan for our lives and I am counting down the weeks until her arrival. 16 weeks to go!
Blessings!!
Baby Blessings
Today my baby boy turned two. What an awesome exciting blessing it is to have two beautiful kids and another one on the way! I am nervous don’t get me wrong. Going from one to two was a huge adjustment now I cannot imagine three. In a few months we will be in for a treat. Instead of a big party we had a small, well it wasn’t really small family gathering. Things went well after a busy day but my four year old had jealousy issues all day. For some reason I think its only a preview of what’s to come when her little sister gets here. Lord help me now!
Pressing On
It has been one busy, eventful, unplanned month. Every time I think I have time to write, something comes up. Since I last made an entry school has ended, dance recital completed, trip to Disney, trunk show planned… It has been quite busy. Its funny though cause you get distracted and sometimes lose focus but something comes along and knocks you back on track.
I have learned that everyone is not in your corner and you have to be selective with sharing your dreams. A few things happened today that tried to derail me once again but the devil will not succeed. I am pressing on anyhow!!!

On My Mind
So there are a few things on my mind this gorgeous Monday in Miami. First, did anyone see Basketball Wives? I cannot believe how crazy these women are! One girl stalking another one because she didn’t make the cast! What kind of madness is that? Guess we have to keep watching to see what happens next.
I am a little sad that former MLB star Jose Lima passed away yesterday. He was only 37 years old. So sad for his wife and five kids. My prayers go out to them. Life is short we have to enjoy each day to the fullest!! RIP
Also on the Sports tip…how could Cleveland fire Mike Brown when he lead the team to the best record in the league the past two seasons? I just don’t get it!!!
Starting Over
A few weeks have past since my last entry! Things are rapidly changing around me but I know its God’s way of saying He is in control and to trust Him. I have slowed down a little but not given up. You see, I am experiencing the first trimester blues. Its not all that blue, it just slows you down, takes all of your energy and makes you recognize that life will throw you curve balls every now and then. The question is do we keep swinging at them or strike out? I refuse to strike out.
Proud Momma
Things are moving along rather quickly! I cannot believe how fast time is flying by. Today was a big step in the future of Sporty Mommas. I met with a publicist about putting the cookbook out on the market a little bit. Its exciting and nerve wrecking as well. So many ideas and goals but I know I must be patient and stay focused on God’s will for me.
April Showers
What a busy week! Our daughter’s fourth birthday party was a success. Things actually went as planned and everyone enjoyed it. The Honey Shine Hats Off Luncheon was awesome! Over 500 fabulous women gathered together for a great cause. The experience of being on the committee taught me so much. Sporty Mommas made our first charitable donation to the Honey Shine Auction! I completed the auction basket for my daughter’s Pre-K class…my the list keeps going on and on!
I cannot believe the month is almost over and there are so many new and exciting things to be grateful for. The cookbook, running our first ad and an unexpected blessing that you will hear about soon! I am so thankful that God keeps pouring out His blessings on us!!!
Basketball Wives
I was anxiously anticipating the premiere of VH1’s BBall wives. After 30 minutes, I was disappointed. First, there was only one true wife and a bunch of ex’s. They are trying to say these women are friends but it is clear they barely know each other. I hope they can show what it is really like being married to an athlete! There is drama in any relationship but with money comes more problems and people that think they want what others have!
April Blessings
Wow! Where is the time going these days? I am still recovering from a five day road trip. Our first stop was to visit some old friends in Spring Training. (Shaun attended his first baseball game). Next stop…Disney! Kids had a ball but I think my hubby had more fun! After 4 days of park hopping we returned home to my shipment of the Sporty Momma’s Cookbook. What a blessing! After months of hard work and patience I must say that I am truly proud of it. I hope that it will bless other people as well.
My first bazaar was a huge disappointment! People did not show up and the ones that did…well let’s just say I only sold one book. I am looking forward to many successful events in the future. Stay tuned!!!
