I started off writing this blog this morning with my favorite summer fashion picks but it just didn’t feel right. My heart was heavy. Over the past few years I kept hearing and seeing #LivelikeBella on facebook and Instagram. I remember Tracy Mourning (honeyshine.org) mentioned it a few times in her tweets but it didn’t hit me until someone that my family loves and adores told me she was very close to Bella. For the past few months I have been praying and asking questions and my friend reminded me how special our kids are. Motherhood is not easy. A mother’s love is unexplainable. I cannot imagine how Bella’s mom and entire family feels right now. I know Heaven has another Angel. One that has already touched thousands and after last nights Heat game millions of people will learn about Bella. I pray that this awareness helps raise funds for Bella’s medical expenses. We can all learn from this beautiful ten year old that fought until the end. Her smile and strength will always be remembered. #LivelikeBella
Talk Tuesday
It is a rainy day in MIA! All I really want to do is crawl back into bed. Since yesterday was a holiday our training session with Mike was rescheduled for this morning. With all of this rain, I don’t know how I am going to get down the street.
It is a short but busy week. Hope Fest 2013 is on Saturday, so I will spend most of the week preparing for that. Every time there is an event there are a few bumps in the road. I tried purchasing a tent (I usually do inside events) but the shipping was ridiculous to get it here by Friday. Plan B is to borrow one from a friend. Hope that works. Until next time!!!!!!!
Happy Memorial Day!!!!
The weekend has come and gone way to fast. We started it off with seeing the Fast and the Furious 6. It was AWESOME!!! The only bad part of the movie were the twelve year olds sitting behind us talking he whole time. Towards the end of the movie I finally turned around and said something and this little twerp had the nerve to stick up his middle finger at me. I had to take a deep breath and remember that he was a kid. Some kids now days have no respect for anybody. The Hubby and I hit the bowling alley afterwards and had dinner and caught the second half of the Heat game. It was a good thing we sold those tickets because that was depressing. Yesterday we had about 20 people over and enjoyed BBQ and the pool. There was enough food for 40 people lol. It was great watching the kids play and reflect on how blessed we are. I want to say Thank You to all of the men and women who fight for our freedom. Because of you, we can live in peace and watch our children grow up. Cheers to you!!!!! Here are my favorite Memorial Day pins from Pinterest!
Fabulous Friday: White HOT
Here in Miami it is all about the HEAT! After Wednesday’s game, this whole city is pumped up. I was so excited, I could not fall asleep after the game. The arena was crazy, my nerves were bad and well….. I made my husband leave when it went into overtime because I just couldn’t take it anymore. I know I know I am crazy, but I am a die hard Heat fan and I get stressed out. The refs were calling crappy stuff all night and I just knew it wasn’t going to be pretty. Thank the Basketball Gods that it worked out for us in the end. My husband always says, “the ball doesn’t lie”. I decided to dedicate today’s post to the Heat. Here are my white hot picks for the playoffs. Let’s Go Heat!!!!!!!
Thankful Throwback Thursday
Early this morning my mother sent me a picture of a card that I made for my grandfather over 17 years ago. It brought back so many memories. Back in the day, things were easy, light, and carefree. Our parents and grandparents took care of us and everything around us. It was such a great way to start my day and reflect on all of the good times we shared. He passed away in March, but to find out that he saved that card that I made him 17 years ago, brought tears to my eyes. Enjoy every minute, cherish every hug, embrace every moment you can because life is to short. Live, Love, Laugh!!!!!
What I’m Loving!
Talk Tuesday: Prayers for OKC
For my first #talkTuesday post I was going to dip into my thoughts on the latest celebrity gossip, but yesterday reminded me that all of that nonsense doesn’t matter. My heart and prayers go out to Moore, OK. I can not imagine the sorrow they feel this morning. Innocent babies trapped under debris. I remember riding out Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and it was a nightmare. I pray my children never have to experience something like that. Thinking of you all.
Make it Happen Monday!!!!
The alarm clock went off three times before I stepped out of bed. After a fabulous weekend, everyone in the Stew household was exhausted this morning. My daughter said, “I don’t know why I am so tired, I slept 11 hours”. I told her it was all the fun she had over the weekend. We rushed to school twenty minutes late but at least we made it. It’s Monday, I am tired, it it cloudy outside but I have a busy day and have to make it happen. So I am rocking my Sporty Momma workout gear, grabbing my water bottle and off to train with Mike “the trainer” and Mari. Let’s Get It!!!!! Only three months to Antigua!!!!!
Living it Up
I must admit this weekend was one of the best weekends I have had in a long time! It was busy, productive, energizing, nurturing and inspiring. The fun began on Friday with the Great Gatsby. If you are a romantic, I highly recommend this movie. I remember reading the book a long time ago, but didn’t recall the details. My husband said he would have rather seen Star Trek, but sometimes we need to mix it up. It reminded me of true undying love and how we often take it for granted. Next stop was at the American Girl model search on Saturday benefiting the Embrace Girls foundation. I really had no idea what I was signing up for but it is for a great cause and my Princess loves to work the runway. After the registration we enjoyed lunch at the Corner Bakery with my mom and niece. The fun did not stop there. Around 5 p.m. we had a play date with a family from school. I loved their home and their hospitality. (You never really know what to expect when you visit someone’s home for the first time)The hostess had it laid out. Fresh guacamole and chips, a dessert table for the kids and of course drinks lol! The kids played and the adults talked for hours. From the trampoline to the playroom to the pool it was nonstop entertainment. To top it off we enjoyed grilled filet mignon and cocktails. My husband says, “It was the best play date ever”! Today the Hubby and I attended Cliff Floyd’s Celebrity Bowling Tournament and it was amazing. Team “Sporty Mommas” was in the house rocking the red and black. It was a fabulous afternoon filled with friends, food, bowling and a serious silent auction all for a great cause. I didn’t bowl so well game one, but I won game two! This weekend was something special! #Live, Love, Laugh
Fabulous Friday
It’s the weekend baby!!!!!! I am so glad it is Friday. We have a busy weekend in store. Tonight we will drop the kids at the “Grands” and head to the movies to see The Great Gatsby. I will give my critique later this weekend. Tomorrow there is a Model Search at American Girl benefiting the Embrace Girls Foundation. In the evening, we have a play date with a family from school that my son has been talking about all week. I hope the weather is good. On Sunday, we will be attending the Cliff Floyd First Annual Celebrity Bowling Event up in Davie. The hubby gets to be a celebrity again lol. It is a great opportunity to give back and for the hubby to hang out with some of his old MLB buddies. Yes, this Sporty Momma of three stays busy. Good thing is we don’t have to get up early for soccer tomorrow. So this weekend I hope you LIVE, LOVE, LAUGH and enjoy yourself! Here is a sneak peak at my first tee from the Inspiration Collection at sporty mommas.com!!!!
