It is amazing to me how good God is! Yes I said it God is good!!!! I admit that being a wife, Momma of 3 and business owner is hard work. Sometimes I even question why I am doing all of the things that I do? Everytime I start questioning myself, God places reminders in my life to encourage me to keep pushing. On Saturday, I bumped into a former 5th grade student of mine. She recognized me after 10 years. She even told me that I looked the same lol. It felt good to share with her my mission for Sporty Mommas and to listen to her story. She was a junior in college, studying something she really didn’t want to pursue and she decided to step out and pursue her passion for acting. Since January, she has been in several commercials and short films. I was so proud of her. We have to pursue our passion. Without passion we have no purpose. I got chills watching Black Girls Rock on Sunday evening. Listening to the stories of black women making a difference, beating the odds, paving the way for our future. I am a Black girl who rocks, who has a mission to share with as many women that I can reach. So I say to you, know your value, know your worth and believe in yourself! You ROCK!!!

Goodbye October-Hello November! I truly love this time of the year. It’s time to celebrate, give thanks and enjoy our family and friends. The weather is slowly changing in Miami. I am sure we will still hit the 80’s but waking up to the 70’s is so nice. I hope you have a fabulous Friday. Don’t eat all of the kid’s candy while they are not home. Cheers to the weekend!

Iced-Strawberry Shortcake Martini

Ingredients
Number of Servings (1)
2 oz Smirnoff® Iced Cake Flavored Vodka
3 piece(s) strawberries
2 oz. lemonade
0.5 oz. amaretto liqueur
1 twist(s) lemon(s)

How to Mix
GLASS: Martini Glass
Muddle strawberries and vodka in a shaker.
Add other ingredients.
Shake well with ice and strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a strawberry and a lemon twist

So I am one of those women who loves to shop. I admit it. My problem with shopping is I usually don’t like to get rid of the old stuff. I actually found a pair of jeans from 2007 hanging in my closet. After having 3 kids back to back I didn’t even try to fit into them. Last week I was thrilled to try them on again and they actually fit. Now if I would have given them away, I wouldn’t have had that YES moment. So my question is do you consign or shop at consignment stores?

This weekend was so much fun! We attended two Halloween Parties that were amazing. The kids were adorable and I must say the Hubby and I were looking good too. Coach Stewart’s teams won both of their soccer games. The only thing that could have made the weekend better was a Dolphin victory. Oh well.

I have a BUSY week ahead. Two class parties, Halloween festivities with the kids and two back to back trunk shows. I am really looking forward to networking and introducing Sporty Mommas to a new community.

Bloody Vampire Punch

4 cups clear rum
4 cups orange juice,
6 cups pomegranate juice
1/2 cup fresh-squeezed lime or lemon juice
1 liter seltzer (pomegranate seltzer works best)

Combine the orange, pomegranate and lime or lemon juices in your favorite punch bowl and refrigerate until just before serving. Add the seltzer immediately prior to serving and, as a creepy finishing touch, toss in a few gummy vampire fangs to frighten and delight your Halloween guests.

Today I want to share with you all an organization that is dear to my heart. The Honey Shine mentoring program is an amazing charity that empowers young girls ages 7-18 in Miami, FL. For over 11 years, Tracy Wilson Mourning has been making a positive impact on not just the young girls of Honey Shine, but the women who sponsor these girls as Lady Bugs. In 2009, I became a Lady Bug and it gave me an appreciation for where I came from, what I have, and a clearer picture of where I wanted to go. There are several ways you can help Honey Shine; you can become a mentor that volunteers to work with the girls, a sponsor, or simply make a donation.

There are several upcoming events this week that you can participate in. On October 24th you can join Honey Shine at Saks Fifth Avenue Dadeland for a shopping benefit. Ten percent of all sales that day will be donated to Honey Shine. On Friday, October 25th you can come out for a day of fashion, fun, and shopping at The Colonnade in front of the Sawgrass Mills Mall. Please see links below.
