Bio:
Corri Ford is from Dallas, Texas. She grew up in the rough area of Oak Cliff. She began singing in elementary school, and she continued to sing all the way to the high school ensemble. In college, she left music behind, and went to Dallas Baptist University on a volleyball scholarship. Secretly, she hoped to someday sing and lead worship somewhere if God opened a door. Corri married her college sweetheart, and began traveling all over the US and several different countries supporting her husband’s career in baseball and raising a family. She started writing and has published 2 children’s books about her 3 children in 2011, “My Daddy Is Just My Daddy To Me” and “Have A Little Faith.” Then after 11 years of marriage, she was faced with a bitter betrayal, a broken heart, and broken family. During this time she only had enough strength to hang on to her faith & on to the promises God had placed in her heart. Too broken to find the words to pray, she began to sing & write worship music.Through this process God healed & restored her heart. She was signed in 2010 to Tate Music Group to produce her debut album ” My Last Hope.” This is truly a gift from God & beyond what she could have imagined happening in her life. Today, Corri lives in the Dallas area as a single parent, who may be a legitimate beneficiary of single mother grants, of 3 amazing kids, Jake(13), Jordan(12), & Faith(3). INTERVIEW:
What is your favorite thing about being a mom?
Seeing God’s love through the beautiful faces & hearts of my kids. When they hug me, I feel His love. When I look at them, I’m amazed at His design & beauty. When I hear “I love you Mom”, I melt. I feel my greatest gift & assignment in life is to mold & guide their hearts toward the Lord.
Who was most influential in your life growing up?
The Lord is my rock & source of my every blessing, provision, & favor. So, my church family growing up influenced me the most in my life. I had great men & women of God show me how to worship, pray, & lead. They taught me how to pray, read, & use the Word. There was so much poured into me from a young age, that it has strengthened, prepared, & sustained me throughout my life. I am thankful to
each of them for mentoring me.
What inspired you to write children’s books?
It was actually when I was leading the Twins Wives Organization in 2005. We partnered with Barnes&Nobles to publish a children’s book called “Minnesota Twins A to Z.” After this exposure, I wanted to write a book for each on of my children as a legacy of love to them. I have published 2 “My Daddy Is Just My Daddy To Me” & “Have A Little Faith”, & I’m currently writing my 3rd. They love reading about their lives, especially my little Faith.
Tell us about your latest project.
Well, this project & process has been bittersweet. I always had a passion for worship. There is something so amazing about being in God’s presence. In 2010, my husband of 11 years had an affair and I was completely devastated. This wasn’t the first incident, but for me it was the last. I could hardly believe it was happening to me, that my family was ripped at the seams, and that God would even allow this to happen. After filing for divorce, I could barely pray. I didn’t have the words or desire to, so I would play worship music to bring me God’s throne. Old songs scams new songs, & I began writing worship music that helped heal my heart. I was signed to Tate Music Group to produce my album “My Last Hope”, that I was not qualified to record, but God opens doors that are amazingly unexplainable.

What advice do you have for other Sporty Mommas that may be thinking of starting something new?
The passions of your heart are there by design. You were created with specific
gifts for purpose to influence & inspire your children, family, friends, & so
many others. Your gifts are your gifts, so don’t let anyone discourage you from
pursuing what’s in your heart. Be relentless in your faith & hope that
everything will work out for your good, & trust God that He will finish what He
